Batteries // Topics

Batteries are the key to tackling one of the most important scientific, social and economic challenges of the 21st century – the ability to store electrical energy for decentralized stationary or mobile applications.

The experts at ZSW have been exploring the ways and means of electrochemical energy storage for more than 25 years. Our spectrum of expertise in battery research encompasses the complete value added chain, ranging from the synthesising and characterising of active materials, the modelling and simulation of electrochemical processes as, the optimisation of components and technologies for mass production, process and production research, and the demonstration of cell prototypes and sample lines. Furthermore, in the battery testing centre we can perform all types of battery tests, investigate in battery system engineering, and battery management systems.
