ZSW regularly takes hydrogen samples at hydrogen refueling stations (HRS) or other locations on behalf of customers and analyzes these samples in HyLaB in accordance with the EN17124, ISO14687 and SAE J2719 standards. The verification of H2 quality at HRS is mandatory in Germany according to the DIN EN 17124 standard.
Correct sampling at H2 refueling stations is a complex process. The HySam device developed for this purpose together with our partner ZBT is one of the few solutions for such sampling. If the hydrogen is contaminated with reactive components such as sulfur, the HySam is currently even the only reasonable solution thanks to its Silconert2000 coating.
The development of the HySam was funded by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs via the Jülich project management organization.
