// Wind and solar performance forecasts

The proportion of electricity from fluctuating sources such as wind and the sun is increasing as a result of the energy transition. The generated power is heavily dependent on weather conditions and varies at different times of the day and with the seasons too. This increases the importance of grid feed power forecasts with high time resolutions in order to ensure a stable power grid and a reliable energy supply system. ZSW researches and operates complex forecasting systems based on machine learning processes in order to forecast the power that will be fed into the power grid from wind, photovoltaic and hydroelectric sources at various locations and across entire regions.
