// Gas conditioning using membrane technology

Gas conditioning by means of membrane technology is based on the different gas transport (permeation rates) of individual gas components through a membrane. The process engineering investment required for membrane technology is relatively low in comparison with other gas conditioning methods. Membrane technology has a modular structure allowing it to be quickly adapted to changing operating conditions and a wide range of loads. The technology can be used for various separating tasks, such as the processing of a synthesis gas or biogas into a substitute natural gas (SNG) or the conditioning of gas streams (adjustment of ratios of individual gases), and it is also suitable for smaller plants.
